Situated above the Skyline complex, there are several walks to choose from: Tiki Trail (1 hour walk) Starting at the base of the Gondola, the Tiki Trail is an alternative route to get to Skyline Queenstown and the top of Bob's Peak. There is no cost to walk up and it takes about 45 minutes or so depending on your fitness.
At the top there's a lot going on with a restaurant, gift shop, luge ride (fun! Take a thrilling ride enjoyed by all ages and abilities. The Tiki Trail starts at the Gondola base and ends at the Skyline complex.
There are two ways to reach the start of this Queenstown walk, you can cheat and grab a gondola ride up to the skyline building, now don’t get me wrong this is still a little adventure in itself. Queenstown Hill Time Walk is one of the easier walks you can do to walk up Queenstown Hill and get good views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. From Lake Wakatipu, you can easily walk all over town and up to the Skyline Queenstown building at the base of the hill. This is a great walk for families and those looking for a quick breath of fresh air. I did the walk up the steep hill in just under 1 hour and took the gondola back down. Skyline Queenstown: You can not take a ticket just to get on and walk down !!!

This walk is pretty intense but so rewarding when you reach the summit. Yes there is a walking track up to the top of the Skyline complex in Queenstown. ), mountain biking trails and hiking trails. We love the walk up and the view of Queenstown from the top and would definitely recommend.

While the gondola ride is a lot of fun, the real reward is right at the top of Bob’s Peak. You will criss-cross over mountain bike trials heading up so keep an eye out for bikes. Cheers. Allow: 1-2 hours return.

Yes you can just show up on the day if you are only going to ride the gondola in Queenstown and don't want lunch in the restaurant. You have to pay the gondola up and down mandatory.!! The gondola ride is currently $27 per person return.
